Workshops

Write to Think works with clients to deliver two kinds of workshop:

  • exploring opportunities and challenges

  • improving writing skills

Opportunities and challenges

Too often in the life of an organisation, work gets in the way of the important things: imagining the best possible future, and how to reach it; responding to changes in the world; finding a way round an obstacle.

Our workshops create the space and time for organisations to attend to whatever merits close attention: strategy, narrative, growth plans, branding, team culture. Our tutors work with you to understand the need, the objective, and the culture of your organisation, and then we design a workshop or series of workshops to address that need.

The workshop encourages creativity and mutual endeavour. We are not management consultants, and don’t come with answers; the answers are in you and your people, and the workshop is a powerful technique for bringing them out.

Writing skills

Despite challenges from technology, writing remains a central skill in the workplace: organisations are becoming more aware of its power to think through ideas and persuade audiences, both internal and external. Our approach to improving writing skills is to focus on the heart of the process - how thinking clearly and writing clearly are one and the same, and how each supports the other. Rather than setting rules, we draw on our experience as teachers of creative writing to encourage participants to see the importance of narrative, which even in a professional setting (or especially so) is the key to understanding, relaying and convincing.
